I'm trying it here, and this is what I get at SymlinkProgram time:
SymlinkProgram: Symlinking global settings...
relativeGoboPrograms = (null)
relativeGoboPrograms = (null)
relativeGoboPrograms = (null)
...
SymlinkProgram: Storing variable files...
SymlinkProgram: Symlinking libraries...
relativeGoboPrograms = (null)
relativeGoboPrograms = (null)
relativeGoboPrograms = (null)
...

I haven't looked at the code yet; is this debug message expected to print 
NULL?
