Recently, an acquaintance who maintains several Mediawiki recommended
reCAPTCHA to me as an excellent way to prevent wiki-spam before it
happens.  I have not used reCAPTCHA myself.

I would be more willing to monitor the wiki if some anti-spam barrier
(such as reCAPTCHA) were in place.
