Hmmm, quite true. We can replicate that code inside FetchArchive or
simply 'export dir' inside Compile (lines 708 and 714). The latter
will still not allow one to run FetchArchive by hand in the console,
though.

I'm leaving home right now. If you have the time to merge them into
FetchArchive inside the right places, feel free to do that. I'll be
back later.
