# XDDD

# I had
ALSA-Driver 1.0.8
ALSA-Lib 1.0.11
ALSA-Utils 1.0.11

# but when I played music with XMMS I got ugly game sounds

# there is no recipe for ALSA-Driver 1.0.11 (not at thru findpackage at
least)
# I just download the sources for it, compiled and installed
# (btw it installs several .ko files to /lib/modules/{ur kernel
version}-Gobo/kernel/sound/ recursively, in other words, CreatePackage
didnt work here, the best is a recipe :))
# and as I have linux-headers installed, I also did
SymlinkProgram -c overwrite alsa-driver 1.0.11

# now I can use both flawlessly!!! XD

# PS.: dunno if this will work with all games, but I put xmms to use
ALSA and I set the game
# (that have this option) to use SDL library and it opted automagically
to use ALSA :)
# I mean I can avoid issuing these commands to create the /dev/dsp
device also :)
modprobe snd-pcm-oss
modprobe snd-mixer-oss
modprobe snd-seq-oss

# despite I believe alsa should create that device based on stuff I read
thru some researches... :/ hehe w/e XD, nway if someone knows more stuff
about alsa+/dev/dsp I would like to know, thx :)
