I've faced that problem several times here, but usually within
Bootstrap. It's happening right now again, and 'top' accuses
'/usr/bin/python /System/Links/Executables/mtail
--config=/System/Settings/Scripts/ColorMake.mtailrc -q' from being the
cpu eater.

Killing that process shows the line on where the problem is happening:

/System/Links/Executables/ColorMake: line 25:  6664 Done
     { $makecmd "$@" 2>&1; echo $? >$workaround; }
      6666 Killed                  | mtail --config="`Find_Conf
ColorMake.mtailrc`" -q

So, make is generating some weird patterns that mtail cannot parse,
entering in an endless loop? I'm running Mtail 1.1.1 here, which seems
to be its latest version. I can try to instrument the code, but help
is greatly appreciated, as I'm not taking this task as a priority
right now.
