I agree with this post. From the general sentiment of this thread, looks like:
a) people would like to see a cron package included in the CD
b) things should not happen automagically (behind the user's back)

For a), it's a matter of deciding "which". I have no clue, but I'm
sure you people can figure it out. ;) For b), IMHO, I think that:
* cron should not be installed by default on 'base' and 'typical' profiles
* if we added a 'server' profile, then that would be a different story
(even though the OS design is general-purpose, the package selection
for the CD _is_ desktop-oriented, though...)
* I agree with Rafael that users should setup their cronjobs by
themselves (each user has different needs/use patterns anyway);
compatibility with nice frontends would be a welcome plus when picking
a cron package.
