Hi all,
I installed 012 the other day, and set about updating the essentials to
get things up to date and working.
Has there been a lot of changes since 012 to the Scripts/Compile combo?
I did the InstallPackage on them both, and after sorting out the
Directories.conf problem seemed to be up and running. Is there
something else that should also be updated for the gobo core?
Next stage:
I have upgraded gcc, and the kernel. I tried glibc but it gave issues
and failed (I'll try and hunt up the error). But there seems a bit of a
chicken and egg issue going on here, so which should be first? GCC,
Glibc, and then the kernel.
Btw. again I was so impressed with the system, after the glibc problem,
both the kernel and gcc compiled without a hitch.
After that? Anything else I need to upgrade/install? For instance the
unionfs is new to me.
Oh yeah, after my whinge about emacs and zile, I created a recipe for
zile as I realized there isn't one in the repos. Guess I better start
subscribing to the recipe list so I can submit it.
Thanks for the coming advice, and again beautifully designed system.
Now to figure out the boot scripts (something I have thought in need of
a revamp on unix systems for a while - esp. the ridiculous systemV layout.
