I myself use Abiword because OpenOffice has two big 
disadvantages for me:

  - its too slow
  - it sometimes crashes

Especially the speed-concern has troubled me greatly.
  
Abiword has less features, but as far as writing text documents 
is concerned, it does what I need better than OO. And faster.

I have no strong opinion about keeping OO or throwing it away,
so I am totally neutral on this. I guess keeping it will 
at least present a typical user with a big, usable 
suite, and since OO has many features, its probably a good idea 
to keep it on a LiveCD/InstallCD. :)

For me, Gobolinux is mostly about beauty in structure.
