There's no problem in providing recipes for such programs. I think it
just haven't been done before because programs such as Firefox and
OO.org are *huge*, take too much time to compile and are probably
going to fail in the build process due to mismatched versions of its
dependencies. It's just better to use the binary packages they
provide, which is the point of the discussion now.
