On the Glibc issue,

I agree 100% with Sean's comments ("SER") about Glibc.

I've tried to install Gobo packages that say my glibc
is out of date, would I like to upgrade?  I say "y"
and then after some time the sytem is hosed -- the
glibc update didn't work out.  How was I to know that
this is a recipe that must be handled carefully?

I think that if the Recipe (glibc in this case) cannot
be used without some magic, it shouldn't be made
generally available like any other Recipe.  I also
think that any Recipe that lists a Glibc version as a
dependency should be tripple-checked -- if one
mistakenly answers "y" to upgrade all, system recovery
is is painful.
