[gobolinux-users] [Newbie] Persmissions on /Programs, security related

Hello,

I have a potential security risk with some files under /Programs. I
have sometimes 'chmod 777' scripts and files for programs which have
been manually installed by root.

I wonder what is the current permissions I should set for programs
under /Programs. 

Can you confirm this :
- All files should be readable by everyone
- All files under /programs/*/bin should be executable by group:users
- All files should be owned by root
- All files should be of group users

I don't know which permission I should set for 'others'.

Does directories have special case ?
