Ah! We have a workaround for QEMU so that the X11 detection is
skipped. We're checking for an emulated environment by searching for
the string "qemu" at /proc/ide/*/model. Since you're using a different
emulator, there's probably a different identification there.

Could you please post the output for "cat /proc/ide/*/model" from your
emulator? I'm not sure if we'll be able to fix this in the current
LiveCD, but that's a welcome feature for the next releases. I'm
curious about what's the output for VMware as well -- if anyone has
access to it, could you please post your output as well?
