[gobolinux-users] How to extract Gobolinux files to a 256MB pen/thumb drive?

I'm trying to realize my idea of Gobolinux 012 on a USB thumb drive at the
moment, and I've gotten some random shareware app (Undisker) for extracting
files from ISOs so as to move them to the thumb drive. However, the kernel
and initrd components are, for the lack of a better term, freakin' huge. And
this stick only has 256MB of space, might I add.

Is there a way to trim the files down so that I could fit them all into the
drive without screwing anything up?
