[gobolinux-users] Inability to boot LiveCD 013

Greetings, fellow humans.

I am having the strangest problem.  I took a GoboLinux i686 013 .iso,
checked its MD5 hash, and burned it to one, then another CD-RW.  With
both CDs I have had the same problem: the process of booting up stalls
at one point or another.

The first time, it hung at Setting Date & Time.  The second time, the
SquashFS started listing off hundreds of errors.  The third time, it
was udev_run_devd which screamed at me until I had to do a hard
reboot.  And so it went, with each attempt failing at a different
spot.  I have tried it 7 times.

My computer is quite vanilla, it's an unmodified Packard Bell.  Does
anyone have a thought on what is wrong?
