I had the same problem; I chalked it up to a dodgy CD drive and did a
manual install. Possibly it's the same for you. Or possibly there is
an actual problem with the ISO. I didn't investigate much beyond
seeing how many errors I could tease out of it.

Do other LiveCDs give you errors too?

If you have another bootable CD drive somewhere you could use, give it
a try; otherwise, I wrote up some instructions in a post a month or
two back when I had the same trouble outlining how I did my manual
install. Check the archives for it and it'll get you up and running if
you want to install it; if you just want to try the LiveCD I guess you
can give qemu a go.
