Freshen (the CVS version for which I posted a package) will resolve
dependencies, order them, and optionally perform the installation for
you. `Freshen Firefox` will give you a list, `Freshen -U Firefox` will
perform the installation. Just `Freshen` will show you everything that
can be updated; `Freshen --help` will give you all the other options.
I'm plugging it because it might actually be helpful to you, not just
because I wrote it.
With Manager, if you're doing major updates, you're better to use it
to get a list and then do the updates themselves manually.

I've had that problem too, come to think of it. It may be a bug. I
didn't look into it at the time, since my focus was on what Freshen
uses.
You should be able to use `InstallPackage Firefox` to install it,
though, if you either select them to install individually or look to
see which ones aren't satisfied and are actually necessary, then
install them yourself first.

`SymlinkProgram GCC 4.1.2` and continue. It's probably nothing.
