Yes I appreciate this!
My first essay in GoboLinux was a few months back! Then it was a hard
disk install on a pc that finally died on me. Gobo did turn out to be
unusable for me for various reasons and I dumped it from that machine! I
currently use PCLinuxOS 2007 and dual boot with Windows XP, but I do
like the concept of Gobo and have kept in touch through the mailing list!
Having recently found an easy to use virtualisation environment (Virtual
Box) and having noted that there had been major updates to the system
management scripts I decided to try again, but as a virtual system
running under windows!
I did hit major problems by failing to understand how the system was
updated and got a screwed kernel, but I seem now to have got round that
although the system may be compromised by the odd antics that were
necessary to revive it!
I am interested in doing my bit as a desktop user to help debug the
products like Freshen etc so will soldier on! When 014 is final I will
probably scrap this install and start again from there, but hopefully I
shall have learnt enough not to get the same problems again!
