[gobolinux-users] 014 aesthethics issue

Hi all!

The first thing I've noticed when booting up 014 livecd was that the fonts
in KDE looked suspiciously ugly. I had no such complains in 013 release, so
there must have been something here. Maybe antialiasing is turned off by
default? Everything points out to this.
Don't know if it's resolved when you install the distro on hdd. I've tried
that but VMWare won't boot the system afterwards (I'm going to put that in
bug tracker)...

My second big complain is the default livecd wallpaper. I know, it's not on
the top-priority list but, for the love of GOD, IT'S HIDEOUS!!! If Gobo
wants to gain some popularity the first thing that needs to be done is an
urgent improvement of general distro aesthethics. I would gladly help
myself, but I'm not a painter. Are there any artists around here? Maybe we
should put up some contest in this regard? That concerns logo, color
schemes, wallpapers, buttons, you name it. We need some consistent and
pleasant looking style for the distro, otherwise it will continue to suffer
from its current amateurish outlook.
If you're wondering what the heck I mean - install and run the latest PCBSD
(www.pcbsd.org). Quite inspiring, don't you think?

Regards,
molfar
