We have some patches in recipes that are simply fixes to upstream (often 
build-system patches).  We have a philosophy to try to get patches 
integrated upstream, but no coordination or concerted effort on this 
that I can see.  I think perhaps, we should make a wiki page for this, 
at least an "Upstream contact log" where anyone who contacts upstream 
regarding a certain patch in Gobo is encouraged to make a note such as 
"E2FSProgs-1.40 -- 01-makefile-sysconfdir.patch -- added to Bugzilla 
<url>" or "...thread on mailing-list <an archive URL if possible>".  And 
any responses, fixes in later versions or perhaps noting that the patch 
is still needed... can be recorded there.  Also people should feel free 
to just add "E2FSProgs-1.40 -- 01-makefile-sysconfdir.patch -- no known 
contact" if there is a patch they feel should be upstream but don't want 
to take the time trying to figure out how to do it, right then.  Then 
people who like doing that sort of thing, can look through the list and 
have a list of things to do, laid out for them to choose from :)
