Yes, it's ok, as long as all your .pc files are stored in
/System/Links/Libraries/pkgconfig.

If you don't have a file named esound.pc inside that dir, then you'll
need to recompile that program. However, I suspect that you don't want
to run esound in your computer, so you're best trying to pass
--disable-esound or whatever flag it is to disable esound support in
your build.
