[gobolinux-users] group management problems with usermod, useradd, etc

[Hi There]

Anyone else having trouble with adding users to a
group? Not sure which package these utils come with,
but I have coreutils 6.7

root <at> Home /Programs/CUPS/Current]usermod -a -G lp
root
usermod: invalid numeric argument 'lp'
root <at> Home /Programs/CUPS/Current]usermod -a -G 9
root
usermod: unknown group 9

unless I'm supposed to be entering octal or something
it looks like lp is group # 9
lp:x:9:

same errors with useradd -g

The /etc/group and passwd files are ok.
