You need at least a Pentium-II. Nowadays it's recommended to have at
least 128MB of RAM, especially if you're going to use OO.

Yes. I've worked with some of its early prototypes in the labs at the
university and got 013 booting fine on it (we didn't have 014 yet).
It's doable to have it on the laptop, but one still need to create
recipes and packages for the applications being shipped on it (such as
Sugar).
