Probably the editor apps seek directories/files which don't exist:
[pid 17144] open("/Programs/Aspell/Settings/aspell.conf", O_RDONLY) = -1 
ENOENT (No such file or directory)

Really there's no such thing like /Programs/Aspell/Settings directory!

Reinstallation of aspell didn't help.

BTW. My questions had to show you weak points of the developing process. I'd 
like really help others but I have to cope first with lack of log 
files,  "spread-over-multiple-directories" files, Gobo names 
(e.g. /System/Variable) intertwined with linux/unix names 
(e.g./System/Variable/lib,log,run, etc), ~share versus Shared directories 
(lack of succinct but clear documentation), etc.

I know the end user shouldn't be interested in the details under a hood but we 
all are semi-developers testing Gobo in everyday use. We too should have the 
life much easier and you the developers should take the fact into 
consideration. We all need to help ourselves if Gobo has to sail oceans not 
littoral waters.
