There is no recipe to compile Manager. This probably is not a problem
for most users, but it is a problem for me as I have glibc 2.4
installed in a non-standard location (i.e. not at /lib/ld-linux.so.2).
Before I dove into Rootless, I did installed Gobo on a machine and
did play with Manager a bit there. I don't think it does what I want.

FindPackage also doesn't do what I want.

But thanks for the tips!

P.S. After installing Gobo 013, the first thing I did was to try to
"Compile emacs". But the emacs recipe was too new. Compile
recommended "InstallPackage Compile" to upgrade. I did
"InstallPackage Compile". This BROKE my brand new Gobo system!!!
Experiences like this are very likely to push away new users. The
reason that "InstallPackage Compile" broke my system is that the new
version of Compile depends on a new version of Scripts. But nothing
told me this. So 5 minutes in to my Gobo experience and Compile (the
very reason for trying Gobo) is broken. Moreover, Compile broke
itself!! Automatically!

I tried running both Freshen and Manager to fix the problem, but as
they in turn simply invoke Compile, they were both broken, too! It is
only when I went back to Rootless, and saw that Rootless installed
only one package - Scritps - that I thought, hmm, maybe Compile
depends on (a newer version of) Scripts. So I did "InstallPackage
Scripts" and things started working again.
