Hi Heikki,

It took me more time than I was expecting to finish these recipes, but
I think that now we have a *very good* printing support on GoboLinux.
I'm unable to commit the recipes to the svn tree, so I'm not
publishing them in the recipe store yet; it looks like the server
which hosts gobolinux.org is facing some problems.

Anyway, here's the steps to have printing support on your GoboLinux:

1) uncompress the attached recipes under /Files/Compile/Recipes
2) rm -rf /Programs/CUPS
3) Compile LibPaper
4) Compile A2PS
5) Compile ESP-GhostScript
6) Compile Gutenprint
7) Compile Foomatic
8) Compile CUPS
9) Compile Hplip
10) run 'cupsd'

Steps 6 and 9 are optional. Gutenprint in special contains many
additional drivers, but it will take ages to compile, and will occupy
136MB after installed. It's probably not worth having it. Hplip
contains extra HP drivers, but they're probably already contained in
the Foomatic package (I didn't have checked for duplicated driver yet,
will do that soon).

The compilation takes some time, but it worked pretty well for me. I
was able to test it on a fresh 013 installation, where 2 remote
printers could be installed by the CUPS' web interface at
http://localhost:631.

Could you please give a feedback after having compiled them? I'm
finishing the generation of these packages for 014 and I'd just like
to be sure that everything worked fine for you, too.
