Thanks for that I hadn't noticed the minimum cpu spec or I might have 
realised sooner myself! The VAIO is just a doorstop now anyway, but I was 
hoping to be able to keep a system running gobolinux so that I could follow 
updates looking forward towards the day when the appllications I want to see 
have installable packages or will compile without errors! Until then my main 
system will have to continue with a distribution that does support these 
applications!

I suppose I could make a small partition for gobolinux and look at dual 
booting in the interim!
