thanks MJ, yours was the script that my current
/bin/lpr is based upon. Unfortunately it doesn't seem
to work with KDE (I'm using Konqueror and Kwrite as my
tests for functionality). I'm not quite sure how to
even get those apps to recognize that I have a working
lpr set up. I've read up quite a bit on
linuxprinting.org, part of the problem is that their
documentation is often out-of-date, or it's unclear
how config files & custom scripts fit into the gobo
world. I'm pretty sure I've got my script's options
right; is there a simple command line I could pipe to
lpr or invoke to test my printer/your script to some
degree?

Also, I wouldn't mind having a networkable solution;
it would be nice to be able to print from another
computer on the net to my gobo printer. But just
getting the printing working would be a big step
forward...

thanks again!
