Quite if you are careful.

I don't know about this, if somebody else know they should answer. I
would think maybe getting the installer to just not install grub and
then edit the Ubuntu one if you already have that installed? Which
should work just as fine as the steps describe below.

I had a problem with the 014-prerelease grub not working on my
computer so I installed Ubuntu on another partition, edited Ubuntu's
grubs menu.lst took the two entries (Graphic and Console) from Gobo's
grub menu.lst and installed Ubuntu's grub. I would recommend doing as
I have done, install Gobo first and then Ubuntu on another
partition/hd, note that there are some fishy things with they way dos
partitions work.
