[gobolinux-users] Another /Programs folder

It's been awhile since I've been here, and the truth is because I've been
using a different distribution because I was doing a lot of audio
production and didn't want to mess with trying to create recipes for all the
programs I needed. But now I'm trying to make the switch back and I have a
question.
I think Gobolinux can be a bit constraining in that there is no directory
freedom when there should be a bit more. I switched to Gobolinux because it
simplified many things which I liked, but at the same time it didn't help in
other areas. I want my /Programs to be programs that I install and I can
uninstall, but instead programs is a directory for everything installed
which is daunting. When I need to go to a folder I have tons of folders to
dig through, and a lot of them I don't even know what they're for. I think
there should be something like /SystemPrograms or something where I can
stick udev, kde, libs, etc and only keep what I want in /Programs. Since
everything is linked there really should be no problem with giving users the
flexibility to have multiple program directories so long as one application
does not reside in more than one.
Anyway, just a thought. This is my one problem with the system because the
only workaround for this now is to install rootless for my user and that
seems redundant since I'm running a gobolinux system. Well, thanks for your
time.
Tim
