i must say that the gmane interface is too difficult for me,
i cant program a better one either, my situation is i have so many things
to do that i cant put in the time to figure out how it works.
i read the mailing list now and then but i think a forum would be nice too.
a mailing list works well for developement, but as far as end-user problems
a forum would be much better, in the past i would have a problem and
ask on the mailing list but nobody would reply so i would end up going to
the forums of other distros for help.
I dont mind either way, all im saying is forums are better for the users
and mailing lists are better for the developers.
So maybe if you make a forum u dont even have a developer category,
only general/help/suggestions. Also a forum builds a better sense of community.
and if you are worried about spam, i dont know enough to help with developement
but i dont mind being an admin and dealing with spammers daily.
as it is, only the really determined newbies stick around.
