Can they mail all messages including topics you haven't specifically
tagged? Can they take replies via email and keep threading sensible?
Can interaction with the forum be done _entirely_ through email?

I say this from experience from another project using a web-based
system, where all messages _are_ mailed out and threading _is_
preserved, but replying still requires visiting a web page. I rarely
bother contributing there any more even if I know the answer, because
switching to the web interface is simply too annoying.

I'm not a GoboLinux developer, but I get the impression that some of
them will not participate in the forums if it requires any use of a
web browser at all. Are the forums still useful to the rest of the
user base -- especially in such a small community -- if the developers
never go there?
