[gobolinux-users] Could I use gobohide on Debian, for example?

Yes, that's possible. Gobohide isn't a kernel module; it's a patch
that integrates with the kernel image instead. In order to use it in
other distributions:
1) download the Linux recipe for the kernel version you want to patch [1]
2) uncompress the recipe and apply patch 01-gobohide.patch to your
Linux source code
3) recompile your kernel
4) reboot
5) download and install the gobohide userland application [2]
6) use it :-)
