[gobolinux-users] bemoaning the lack of sound

Just a note about mixers and alsa. Aumix is a good package to install
too for sound testing. You know sound *is* working if sound apps
don't complain but there's no sound (generally).

While I'm not on a mac, I know on the 014 version of Gobo I found
sound to be unpredictable and still haven't found a solution. When
using the mixer my sound would 'hop' around, it'd go from 100 to 0 or
10 to 70, etc, which was not only annoying but would cause issues with
other things.

Aumix allows you to do something as simple as "aumix -v 50" which
turns the main volume up to 50%, and you you can query sound with
"aumix -q", getting a list of all channels with their balance and
volumes. As was mentioned, by default you'll notice the main volume is
always 0.

Anyhow, nothing else to add.
