I deliberately chose a more expensive MacBook because the cheapest (as 
of June 2007) only burns CDs, not DVDs.  Even so, I only have CD-Rs on 
hand, not burnable DVDs (which are also a little more expensive, IIRC).

In a computer store I think I saw a bunch being advertised with 
Blu-ray/HD-DVD reading capabilities that I think could only burn CDs, 
not DVDs. (idiotic consumerism-focus, greater inequality between reading 
and writing)
