What tool did you use to convert the font to an X11 font? I have my
own font design that I made for my Kestrel, that I'd like to use
instead of Lode, but I can't figure out how to make an X11 font from
it.

I generally prefer things to remain unpatched. It totally eliminates
the uncertainty of whether or not a bug (visual or otherwise) is the
result of a per-distribution patch or is really a legitimate bug on
the part of the authors of the tool.
