I feel the same way from my experience.  BTW, is it possible to run 
Bootstrap from within Rootless (on a base non-Gobo system)?  And... back 
when I was on PowerPC, I wasn't entirely successful with Rootless. 
(possibly because of inexperience with Gobo.)

A few recipes may still need fixing to move any x86-specificness into 
i686/ ... and some others will need an x86_64/ added... but most recipes 
aren't arch-specific.
