[gobolinux-users] xorg 7.3 macbook freeze

Xorg 7.2 has been working for me on my Macbook. Upgrading to 7.3 (which
has a new driver for the macbook's Intel graphics card), and startx
works with shiny correct resolution, but won't respond to any of my
input, the computer begins to heat up (fan audibly turns on), and I
forced it to shut down with the power button. So I did SymlinkProgram
Xorg 7.2 and things are back to how they were (which is working well
enough). Ubuntu Feisty + a version of that new driver (in their
Universe packages IIRC) _worked_ for me with good resolution (but sound
works in Ubuntu too; they tend to have lots of patches; and that was
using GNOME, whereas I use Xmonad in GoboLinux). I may test Ubuntu
Gutsy when that comes out, for comparison...

gobo /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Section "Device"
         Identifier "Card0"
         Driver "i810"
EndSection

Driver "intel" means the same as Driver "i810", in 7.3, I think. Driver
"vesa" can't find the screen in 7.3 (and not in 7.2 either, if I recall
correctly).
