Do you have another computer so that you can try to ping / ssh to your
Gobo pc? I had some similar problems in the past with my ARM boards
and that helped a lot to fix the problems.

In fact, you can even get more accurate information if you ssh to your
Gobo pc and launch 'startx' remotely, as you'll be able to see
information messages sent to stdout/stderr by the X server (something
similar can be achieved by running "startx >& x.log" if you don't have
another computer to do that).
