[gobolinux-users] Mount options with HAL

Hi there,
long time no hear:-). I just installed on my notebook (If you remember, I
wrote to the list last about a year and something ago. I was willing to make
Gobo i586 port but finally I rather got a new notebook:-). Shiny old P3
850MHz + 256M RAM. I use *buntu on my other machines. I had a custom
lightweight setup of *buntu (Openbox etc.) on that notebook, but Gobo+KDE is
maybe even faster (I didn't think this is possible).). Sorry for the
bullshitting, now for the matter:

I'm from the Czech rep., so I chose the cs_CZ locale (iso8859-2), installed
KDE-I18N-cs etc. but can't get a correct display of diacritics for a mounted
flashdisk (both in Konqueror and console, so it's a low-level problem. I
have a default Gobo install (HAL, DBus), no Pmount or Ivman. When I mount
the flashdisk by hand with "-t vfat -o codepage=852,iocharset=iso8859-2" it
works, but when the flash is automounted in KDE it does not. I guessed that
it is caused by HAL and tried to force HAL to use the options but had no
success. Somebody please help if you can (maybe it's not caused by HAL?).

Further description:
I Googled a lot and tried setting volume.policy.mount_option.codepage (and
many similar combinations) mainly in /S/S/hal/fdi/policy/10-
storage-policy.fdi but it didn't work in KDE and it didn't even show up in
lshal. If it showed in lshal it could be something similar to that ArchLinux
bug <http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/8342> but as it does not, I really don't
know what to do.

Thanks everybody,
Vojta
