You don't have to go for Xorg 7.3. Latest revision of libxcb
1.0 has a patch for this issue (this patch is mentioned in
the bug report you link to). This fix is included in the
Latest Xorg 7.2 (7.2-r6) package as well.

Either run 'InstallPackage Xorg' or (if you have Compile
1.10.1 or later) run 'Compile libxcb 1.0' to have this fixed
(I just commited a new revisions of LibXCB to make it easier
to Compile "into" Xorg, so this might not be available in a
couple of hours).
