As for the reboot, I suspect it to be caused by the command. Just use 
"shutdown -r now" for reboot and "shutdown -h now" for halting. Maybe 
the ones you used could work too, dunno.
The login command instead should be set to the shell login command you 
want to use, I believe, but I might be wrong here.
