[gobolinux-users] Can Gobolinux be modified to function as a server?

Hello folks,
I need to know what procedure is required to build the applications I 
need to run Gobolinux as a server. From what I have read, you require 
special parameters in the configuration of this system. I need to know 
if I am limited to the applications that have scripts written for them, 
or if a user can compile his own applications through the use of some 
build system for Gobolinux?
